WARDROBE

Goody good, things are going on, slowly but surely.
Week 10, I started renovating old wardrobes. We recycled them from the former owner of the house. Each of the rooms will get one of them. 60x60x200 m. They did not have a socket så Kåre was forced to build one for both of them meanwhile I was in charge of make them look nice.

So, for the romantic room we choosed to paint the one side in the same colour as the walls. We will later on make som nice decorations on that.
For the little room I decided to buy a tapestry to make it look more boatish, as long as boatish as we can get. For the inside I bought cheap present paper to cover the old baskets
and we also added in the corner of the room a little space to hang on jackets and put in the suitcases.

PICTURE WALL AND KITCHEN READY

The kitchen is almost ready! Look at it.
What do you think about the picture tapestry?
Does it look good?
And to match the black and white we bought this nice lamp with black glass and steel.

Hard working?

Well, as a thank you for all the hard work Leo found a new way of amusing himself!

WINTER IS BACK

The winter is back or better said, finally we got some winter, but just for a night and day.

Saturday night the snow was falling so nicely. Before I went to bet I look out of the window and I took this picture of my balcony.

The next day it was like that!!

PROTECT THE FLOOR

Now that the floor is layed very important is to try not to ruin it, so don't forget to put these amazing little things under every furniture piece you got and your floor will last longer.

NEW FLOOR

Saturday we dedicated the day to put in the new floor in the bigger room.
As you can see we put a layer first of plas that helps absorbing noise while walking on it.
Then we bought a clic floor, actually pretty much easy to do. Colour cherry.
What do you need to do this?

You have to leave about 8 mm free space on all sides. Wood has to breath and work and it helps you while putting the floor as well.

What more do you need to have fun while working?

My cat Tigris of course! She is always curious about what I am doing, so she comes, gets her pet and caresses and then she is happy and goes upstairs again. And in case you might wonder what I have on my ears, is because Kåre is (beside of taking picture of me here) cutting wood in the other room. The cutting machine is very LOUD!

After the parkett was layed we started putting the lists around and here you need another kind of sawing machine. See picture below.

Be careful to saw right corners otherwise it doesn't match with the other list.
And the final touch is to fix the lists with nails and the easiest way is to have a friend that has a building company and borrows you this quicky nail airpress machine. And the work is done!!
